How Do Implants Work?
Then over the course of several months, the implants gradually bond with the bone, creating a very strong and stable foundation for your brand new teeth. From there small posts will be attached to the implants, and finally, the new artificial teeth are placed on top the posts Once completed your new teeth will be completely natural-looking and you will be able to eat virtually any type of food.
Dental Implants are Titanium Alloy Prosthetics that are surgically placed directly into the jawbone where the teeth/tooth are missing. Its osseointegration – the process of fusing the implant to the surrounding bone, is achieved via the composition of the titanium alloy used.
1. Depending on the case the gum may be incised to accurately drill into the bone (this is not absolutely necessary unless the bone thickness is poor), a pilot drill is used to guide the main drill followed by the Implant.
2. After the Implant is placed inside the jaw, a healing cap will be used to prevent tissue or bone from blocking the internal cavity of the Implant, the gum is sutured to protect the Implant during the recovery period.
3. The recovery period can take between 6 months to 1 year for some patients depending on their bone health, in some rare cases the recovery period can be skipped in favor of the Immediate Loading System.
4. When the recovery period is concluded and the panoramic x-rays and CBCT show good results for Implant osseointegration, the gum will be opened slightly to expose the Implant healing cap – which is removed, and then a Dental Abutment is installed in its place.
5. When the Abutment is secured an Alginate or Rubber Impression is made to create a mold for our Laboratory to produce your Dental Crown, Bridge, or Denture. Bridgework and Dentures require more than 1 Implant to support them. (See our Prosthetics List for more information on options for Dental Crowns, Bridgework, or Dentures for your Dental Implant)

Why Choose Them Over Dentures Or Bridges?
Traditional dentures/bridge work can go a long way to help to improve the appearance of any missing teeth, However, for many, they can find them uncomfortable inconvenient and less natural-looking.
At Eximus Dental we realize that these days most people can see the clear advantages that dental implants can offer, compared to traditional dentures or bridgework. In addition to being more attractive and ascetically pleasing, dental implants also feel function and work much more like natural teeth.
The Advantages Of Multiple Tooth Replacement?
The advantage of replacing multiple teeth with an implant supported bridge is the adjacent natural teeth will remain intact and this means bone will be preserved over time.
